The acclaimed revival, which continues the story of the beloved '90s X-Men animated series, is set to debut its second season on Disney+ on Wednesday 1 July, more than two years after season 1 first arrived.
Only the first four episodes of the new run have been screened for critics so far, but the early reaction suggests Marvel Animation has maintained the high standard set by season 1, which itself earned widespread acclaim from fans and reviewers.
The new season will pick up after the dramatic events of the season 1 finale, which saw the X-Men defeat Bastion and stop Asteroid M from destroying the planet – only for the team to be scattered through time.
The latest trailer, titled Roll Call, leans heavily into the expanded scope of the new episodes, spotlighting an enormous roster of mutants from across the X-Men universe.
The footage also teases some major comic book-inspired developments, with Apocalypse set to take centre stage following the end of season 1.
