The summer season is well underway across Chicago, evident by a weekend packed with festivals.
Running through Sunday is Chicago’s Puerto Rican Fest in Humboldt Park, center of Puerto Rican culture throughout the Midwest.
And it’s just one of event of many taking place this weekend.

Lincoln Square Greek Fest
Friday: 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday: 3 to 11 p.m. Sunday: 12 to 11 p.m. St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2727 W. Winona St.From the food to the entertainment, you might just feel like you’ve been transported to Greece this weekend on the city’s North Side.
The Lincoln Square Greek Fest began Friday afternoon and runs through late Sunday. There’s no shortage of things to enjoy — from Greek favorites like souvlaki and saganaki to traditional dancing, church tours and activities for kids.
Puerto Rican Fest
Thursday – 3 to 10 p.m. Friday – 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday – 12 to 10 p.m. Sunday – 12 to 10 p.m. Humboldt Park – 2800 W. Division St.Highlighted by the annual Puerto Rican People’s Day Parade on Saturday afternoon, Chicago’s Puerto Rican Fest features a jam-packed four days of activities.
Visitors to the festival in Humboldt Park can immerse themselves in Puerto Rican culture by tasting authentic food, enjoying live music and more. The fest is billed as offering “all family fun in one fest.”
Chicago Thai Festival
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thorek Hospital – 851 W. Irving Park Rd.Touted as “an unforgettable celebration of Thai culture, food and community,” Thai Festival Chicago runs for two days in the Irving Park neighborhood. Cultural performances are on tap, as well as other live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
Andersonville Midsommarfest
Friday – 5 to 10 p.m.Saturday – 12 to 10 p.m. Sunday – 12 to 9 p.m. Clark Street from Foster to GregoryAn annual Swedish tradition, Andersonville’s Midsommarfest regularly draws tens of thousands of visitors to the North Side neighborhood.
The festival, which is marking its 60th year, offers an open invitation to celebrate in the streets and kick off Pride season with joy, visibility and community, according to a news release from the city.
Entertainment stretches four stages, alongside diverse food offerings and artisans showcasing unique goods.
