When it comes to classic rock radio staples that still get played all the time, it’s tough to think of a more ubiquitous example than Foghat’s “Slow Ride.” Over 50 years after the song was first released on the 1975 album Fool for the City, that unmistakable riff is still pretty hard to resist. That’s why it’s been included in countless roundups of legendary tracks from the era, like “VH1’s Top 100 Best Hard Rock Songs of All Time” and Ultimate Classic Rock’s “Top 100 Classic Rock Songs.”
It’s also a big part of why the band is still attracting audiences, of course, and if you haven’t managed to see Foghat live yet, there’s still time. Following a short respite, Foghat is returning to the road on Oct. 10, and they recently added two early 2027 dates to their upcoming jaunt.
Per the official Foghat website, the next round of Twang and Bang Tour dates kick off on Oct. 10 in Dodge City, KS.
From there, the band will travel to Huntington, NY, on Oct. 15, after which they’ll stop in New Haven, CT, on the 16th. Next they’ll head across the country to Mesa, AZ, for a concert on the 22nd, followed by another trek back east for an Oct. 30 show in Hopewell, VA. There’ll be two more shows in November (one on the 14th in St. Charles, IL, and a second on the 20th in St. Louis, MO), before things wrap up until after the new year.
The tour will resume on Jan. 23, 2027 in Bloomington, IL, with an additional date planned on Feb. 19 in Toppenish, WA.Foghat’s current line-up includes co-founder and drummer Roger Earl, singer Scott Holt, guitarist Bryan Bassett and bassist Rodney O’Quinn.
Both original Foghat frontman Dave Peverett and guitarist Rod Price died in the 2000s, while bassist Craig MacGregor died in 2018 after reuniting with the band for a decade.
