Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Freestyle specialist Eric Ring, a Louisiana state record holder, will attend Drury University in the fall of 2026 to continue his swimming career.

A LHSAA Division IV record holder and Most Outstanding Male Swimmer in 2022, 2024, and 2025, Ring lives in Slidell and attends Pope John Paul II Catholic High School while training with Hurricane Swim Club.

Swimming runs in Ring’s family. His father, Eddie Ring, was an All-American swimmer at LSU.

“I’m so excited to be a part of the storied program at Drury University next year! From the first call with them, the coaches’ intelligence and care for their athletes truly spoke to me and made me realize that this was the place where I could become the best version of myself, both in and out of the pool. GO PANTHERS!!!”

Ring was a four-time champion at the 2025 LHSAA Division IV Swimming Championships (SCY) in November, claiming titles in the 200 free (1:39.41), 500 free (4:34.35), 400 free relay, and 200 medley relay. His swims in the 200 free and 500 free remain lifetime bests, as does his 46.71 leadoff split in the 400 free relay.

In March, at the 2026 NCSA Spring Championships (SCY), Ring posted a PB of 21.55 in the 50 free. He also competed individually in the 100 free (46.82), 200 free (1:40.81), and 500 free (4:39.56).

Ring was a Southern Zone Senior Champion (LCM) over the summer, winning the 200 free (1:56.40), 400 free (4:10.22), and 800 free (8:40.35). He also placed 7th in the 50 free with a time of 24.33.

Drury’s men’s team was the runner-up at both the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships and the 2026 NCAA Division II Championships. Ring’s best times in the 200 free and 500 free would have been fast enough to qualify for the ‘B’ final in both events at the conference championship.

Joshua Montone, Francesco Galluzzi, and Seth Augustine will join Ring on campus this fall. Among the group, Ring holds the fastest 200 free and 500 free times.
