While I can't speak completely to their absolute street-vendor authenticity, I do know one thing: if the food in Turkey tastes anything like these, I'm booking a flight to Istanbul tomorrow morning.

Each box comes with three individually wrapped flatbreads for $4.99. As a Mexican American, my first thought after taking a bite was that it tasted like an insanely good quesadilla. But after looking at the ingredients, I realized something very different was happening here.
Each flatbread contains 400 calories and 17 grams of protein, making it filling enough for a quick lunch or hearty snack.
The package directions call for heating the gözleme from frozen in a completely dry skillet over medium-low heat for about five minutes per side. I lowered the heat slightly and let mine cook a bit longer because I wanted the exterior extra crispy.
How Do They Actually Taste?
If you love a good quesadilla or grilled cheese, you'll love these. The flatbread gets incredibly crispy and flaky on the outside while staying soft and slightly doughy inside.
Since I didn't happen to have my usual condiments on hand when I made these, I ended up enjoying them completely plain. Honestly, I couldn't have been happier. They are rich and flavorful all on their own.
