Ahead of the 2026 college football season, ESPN released its ranking of the top 10 wide receivers in the country on Thursday morning.
New Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman made the list, checking in at No. 3 overall. Coleman, who transferred in from Auburn earlier this offseason, was ranked behind only Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith and Miami receiver Malachi Toney.
“He reminds me of Calvin Johnson,” an anonymous college football GM told ESPN when asked about Coleman. “You’re going to have to command some type of double-team, because it’s not a 50-50 ball with him — it’s almost 80-20. He’s going to go up and get it.”
Despite having poor quarterback play at Auburn, Coleman was still very productive in his 2 years on the Plains. He went for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns across both seasons with the Tigers.

He now joins a Texas program that should be much more equipped to highlight his skillset. He’ll be playing alongside quarterback Arch Manning, who is among the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy this year:
