"I thought of this couple, and when we came up with the line, 'Then I touched your hand, I could hear you whisper, The search is over, love was right before my eyes,'" he and Sullivan looked at one another, Peterik said, and they both had actual goose bumps. "It was the magical turn of that phrase and realizing what this song was about. I think we discovered the song as we were writing it."
Lead singer Jimi Jamison hit the verses with a graceful intimacy and built up to the passionate, full-throated, high-note belt of the chorus. When he croons, "Now I look into your eyes, I can see forever / The search is over, you were with me all the while," listeners get swept up.
