June 6-11, 2026 Kazan, Russia LCM (50 meters) Meet Central Live ResultsThe swimming world has had its eyes on 22-year-old Egor Kornev this week after he threw down Russian records in the 50 freestyle over the last two days, ultimately bringing the mark to 21.06.
This evening, Kornev added two more Russian records to his repertoire. To start the evening off, he dropped a 46.99 in the 100 free semi to become the first Russian and seventh man overall to break the coveted 47-second barrier. The previous national mark belonged to Kliment Kolesnikov, who clocked a 47.11 in at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

With this swim, Kornev burgeons to #1 in the world rankings this season by a whopping four tenths of a second. American Chris Guiliano cedes his previous #1 spot to the Russian.
