Disclosure Day follows Josh O'Connor's whistleblower Daniel Kellner as he attempts to expose a vast conspiracy to cover up extra-terrestrial visits to Earth, with help from TV weather presenter Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) – who appears to have a mysterious connection to the aliens.
Also along for the ride is Eve Hewson, who plays Daniel's girlfriend Jane Blankenship, and speaking exclusively to Radio Times ahead of the film's release, both Hewson and O'Connor admitted that working on the film had opened up their minds to the possibility that aliens are real.
She continued: "I think I'd seen like a few documentaries and I was like, ‘Oh, interesting' you know? But this movie really got me down the rabbit hole. And now... I'm in!"
"It seems very unlikely to me that we are alone and that we're the only developed civilization in endless space, but I don't know that I knew too much about it," he said.
But it didn't take too long working on Disclosure Day before he'd begun a truly deep dive into the subject.

"I think it's a reason why people are so against the possibility of there being UAPs (unidentified anomalous phenomena)," she said.
