A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged after he allegedly fatally shot a fellow Amazon employee in a company parking garage last week.
According to authorities, 20-year-old Quentin Williams is accused of pulling out a semi-automatic weapon and shooting 27-year-old Travion Taylor to death on Thursday inside of an employee parking garage at an Amazon facility in suburban Melrose Park.
Police believe the incident was sparked by a personal dispute among multiple individuals. It is then alleged the suspect pulled out the weapon and shot Taylor in the back before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.
After an extensive investigation, Williams was taken into custody this week and will face murder charges in connection with the shooting, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
He will face a pretrial detention hearing in suburban Maywood on Monday, according to prosecutors.
There were approximately 60 other employees inside of the Amazon facility at the time of the shooting Thursday, but no other injuries were reported, and the incident appears to be isolated in nature, police said.
