Winter Juniors qualifier Dylan Stewart has announced his verbal commitment to swim and study at Georgetown University beginning in the fall of 2027. He publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgetown University. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to compete at the next level. A rising senior at Marvin Ridge High School in North Carolina, Stewart has competed for the school’s swimming and diving team since his freshman year. He also currently trains year-round with Mecklenburg Swim Association, where he primarily specializes in sprint freestyle and butterfly.
Stewart is coming off a 2025-26 season that saw him make a big leap toward in the 200-yard distances. He dropped nearly six seconds in the 200 fly and exactly two seconds in the 200 free, in addition to chipping a few tenths off all of his PBs in sprint free and fly. He set all of his current PBs at Speedo Sectionals – Cary at the end of March, where he swam times of 21.17 in the 50 free, 46.08 in the 100 free, 1:38.44 in the 200 free, 50.13 in the 100 fly, and 1:50.35 in the 200 fly.
Stewart has qualified for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state meet in each of the past three years. In February, he helped Marvin Ridge win the 7A state titles in both the 200 medley relay (22.56 fly split) and the 200 free relay (21.26 anchor), while also making the individual ‘A’ finals for the first time, finishing fourth in the 100 free (46.94) and sixth in the 200 free (1:41.86). That brought his total state title count to three, adding to the 400 free relay gold he helped the team claim in 4A in 2025.
Stewart also qualified and competed at the Winter Junior Championships for the first time this season. Competing at the East location, he finished 82nd in the 200 free, 96th in the 1100 fly, and 121st in the 100 free this past December.

Stewart’s current lifetime bests would have qualified for the ‘A’ final in the 200 free and ‘B’ finals in the 100 free and 100 fly, setting him up to be an immediate contributor, and he still has two full seasons of training to go before he lines up for his first conference meet.
Stewart joins Ben Franks and Max Vazirani in committing to the Hoyas’ class of 2031 so far.
