May 29-31, 2026 LSU Natatorium, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Long Course Meters (50m), Prelims/Finals Results on Meet Mobile:LSU All-American and Croatian Olympian Jere Hribar had a big meet in long course over the weekend in his first official racing since the NCAA Championships in March.
With three weeks left in his country’s qualification period for the European Championships, Hribar dipped under the qualifying times in both the 50 and 100 meter freestyles and put himself into position for a spot in Paris later this year.
In the 50 free, he won in 21.97, and in the 100 free, he won in 48.51. While neither swim is a best time, they are both close to his personal bests outside of last year’s World Championships.
In Singapore last summer, he swam 21.79 in the 50 free and 47.93 in the 100 free. His best times aside from that meet are 21.94 and 48.18, respectively.
The 6’8″ Hribar is 22 and a rising senior for the Tigers. He finished 2nd at the NCAA Championships in the 100 free in March.
On the women’s side, rising LSU junior Avery Littlefield won the 100 free against a very good field in 55.94.
That is her best time by over a second after a bit of an odd collegiate season: she knocked 1.6 seconds off her best time in the 100 yard free at a November dual meet, which wound up being her season best time.
She also posted a huge drop in the 100 fly, touching in 1:00.26, which was a 1.87 second drop; the 50 free in 25.62, a .11 second drop; and the 50 fly in 26.73, a .54 second drop.
Most of those times rank her among 30th in the U.S. this season, but the 50 fly ranks her tied-for-9th with Olivia Smoliga.
