The incident happened in the first innings, after Washington Sundar’s catch was disallowed by the third umpire, Jayaraman Madanagopal, on the last ball of the 10th over. Drinks came on the field while the umpire checked whether Jordan Cox had caught the ball cleanly. The decision went in GT’s favour, and in anger, David threw the ice bag in Menon’s direction.
