"During a mid-season review, a senior player suggested that India's young batter Tilak Varma, who has been with MI for a few years now, is the ideal person to be appointed captain next year," a source said.
Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah to be considered for captaincy
Right now, both Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are also in the running to become captain. Yadav is India's incumbent full-time T20I skipper and won the T20 World Cup earlier this year.
Bumrah has led India in both Tests and T20Is as well.

"The management is also likely to phase out a senior batter and give him a 'different' role. Basically, MI needs a reset, and that refresh button needs to be pressed as soon as possible," the source told TOI.
