Virginia high school state finalist Levi Fulwiler has announced his verbal commitment to stay in-state and swim at William & Mary beginning in the fall of 2027. He publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at The College of William & Mary. I would like to thank my mom, dad, and brothers for supporting my swim career and being my biggest cheerleaders. Thank you to all my teammates from NCAP, RSD, and Penguins for helping to push me to where I am today. Thank you to my NCAP coaches, Coach Pete and Coach Jason, for helping to continue my improvement. I am very grateful for Coach Nate, Coach Mike, and Coach Caleb for giving me this incredible opportunity! Go Tribe!!
A junior at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax, Fulwiler has competed for the school’s swimming and diving team since his freshman year. In addition to representing the Rams, he also trains year-round with Nations Capital Swim Club, where he primarily specializes in butterfly and backstroke.
Fulwiler recently wrapped up a 2025-26 short course season that saw him drop nearly six seconds in the 200 back, over two seconds in the 100 fly, and about a second in both the 100 back and 200 fly. He set most of his current bests at the NCSA Spring Championships in mid-March, placing 21st in the 100 fly (48.87), 42nd in the 200 back (1:49.59), 47th in the 200 fly (1:51.64), and 77th in the 100 back (51.07), with the exception of the 200 fly, where he had registered his lifetime best of 1:50.86 at the Potomac Valley Open a few weeks prior.
On the high school scene, Fulwiler has represented Robinson Secondary at the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 6 State Championships the past two seasons. In February, he placed seventh in the 100 fly and ninth in the 100 back after touching 14th in both the 100 fly and 200 IM a year earlier.

Fulwiler’s current career bests would have made the ‘B’ finals of the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 100 back, and he is less than a second off the 200 back ‘B’ final cutoff of 1:48.80, already putting him in position to be an immediate contributor with two full seasons of training still ahead before his first conference meet.
Fulwiler joins Liam Haas and Enzo Fontana in committing to William & Mary’s class of 2031 so far.
