PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) – The Pittsford girl’s lax team is looking for its first Section Vi title since 2021, and will play Victor, who has won the last four in Class B.
Pittsford battled back-and-forth with Canandaigua, ultimately pulling away in the fourth quarter for a 12-10 win. The Panthers are making their first championship game appearance since 2022, when they lost to Rush-Henrietta in Class A.
However, Pittsford has claimed many championships in the past, winning Sectionals bricks in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021, all in Class A. They have never won it all in Class B.
Meanwhile, Victor has won seven championships all time, including four straight in Class B. The Blue Devils also won it all in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Victor was tested by Irondequoit, winning 9-8 in front of the Blue Devils’ home crowd.
Now, the two Rochester East side dynasties will square off June 2 at 7 p.m. at St. John Fisher University for all the bragging rights.
