ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A weak bubble of high pressure building into the Great Lakes will keep us quiet and dry but a bit cool to end the work week. Highs on Thursday will hold in the 50s, with temperatures flirting with 60 on Friday. This is despite a fair amount of sunshine making a return over the next 48 hours. Thursday will see sunshine with some high clouds, while Friday starts off with a mostly sunny sky. Clouds will begin to move in later in the day ahead of our weekend rain.
Speaking of that weekend rain – Saturday looks like it could be a washout, and will be the wettest day of the holiday weekend. A warm front lifting through will stall out overhead, with rain moving in and lingering most of the day. We will likely see about a half inch to inch of rain on Saturday, with the rain tapering Saturday night.
The rest of the Memorial Day Weekend will show improvement. Temperatures should rebound back into the upper 60s and lower 70s Sunday and Monday. While we will see some off and on showers those days, we should have a fair amount of dry time to get out and about. We’ll be able to fine tune specific timing as we get a little closer to the weekend.
