For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Runners-Up Marist have snagged multiple time Futures Finalist Brandon Lin. The native of Hawaii, is set to gone the Red Foxes, a D1 Mid-Major program this coming fall as part of their class of 2030.

I chose Marist because of the team dynamics as well as a coach that made me feel comfortable and I felt I would fit in well. The program is in a competitive conference . I am most excited to contribute to the team, make friends and compete at the collegiate level.

Thank you first and foremost my parents for all the time, support and energy that they have showered me with. My entire family for always being there. The guidance of all my coaches past and present. All my friends and teammates that have been with me through my journey. Coach Randall of Marist for giving me this opportunity I have dreamed of.

This past summer, Lin, swimming for his club team, Swim Kauai Aquatics, earned four separate second swims at the Futures Champions in Justin. The then rising senior placed 28th in the 50 back (30.73), 24th in the 100 breast (1:10.40), 19th in the 400 IM (4:53.41) and 12th in the 200 breast (2:29.62), with the 50 back time standing as a new personal best.

More recently at the SCY Hawaii Senior Championships, Lin made the final in all seven of his individual events, placing in the top eight in a remarkable six of them. His best showings were in the breaststroke, where he hit a new PB in the 50 breast dipping under 27 for the first time, going 26.84 in prelims. In the finals he knocked off another tenth, placing 6th with his time of 26.72. He placed an equal 6th in the 100 breaststroke stopping the clock at 58.87. Lin earned the silver medal in the 200 breaststroke, as he stopped the clock at 2:05.39. Lin’s breaststroke strengths are supplemented by strong swims in the IM as wells as in the fly events. He earned a bronze medal in the 400 IM going 4:12.20 and earned top 8 finishes in the 200 IM (6th – 1:58.46) and 200 fly (7th – 1:57.30).

More recently at the Boise Speedo Sectionals meet, Lin made two A-finals, placing 4th in the 200 breaststroke with his 2:06.83 and taking 8th in the 200 IM with his 2:00.60. He also earned 2nd swims in his 200 fly (16th – 2:03.65), and 100 breast (25th- 59.80).

He hasn’t swum the event since 2024, but Lin is also a sub-5:00 500 swimmer, having gone 4:55.02 at the 2023 Hawaii Senior Champs. Also, at that meet he recorded his personal bests in the 100 and 200 breast. He took 2nd in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 57.71 and climbed to the top of the podium in the 200, where he stopped the clock at 2:04.11. At the time, both swims were new Hawaii Swimming records in the 13-14 age group, with the latter swim, the 200 breaststroke, cracking the top 100 swims in the age-group, placing Lin 75th on the all-time list.

Best SCY Times:

500 Free – 4:55.02 100 Breast – 57.71 200 Breast – 2:04.11 200 Fly – 1:55.16

Marist has been led by Anthony Randall since 2021 and the Red Foxes have finished runner-up the past two years at the MAAC Championships, after having won the conference title in 2024. This past season, they were pipped by Fairfield who scored 1341.83 to Marist’s 1276.

Lin’s 100 breaststroke best of 57.71 would have earned the Hawaii native a spot in the C-final, while his 200 breaststroke time would have earned him a spot in the B-final, as his 2:04.11 would have been the 14th fastest time at the meet. His 200 and 400 IM times would not have made the top 24 nor would his 500 free best of 4:55.02 but Lin’s 200 fly time of 1:55.16 would have been 20th in prelims, but sets up a rough double with the 200 breaststroke which are traditionally swum back to back.

Marist graduates Hunter Emmerson, who finished 6th in the 200 breaststroke (2:00.14), but Lin will overlap one year with rising senior Dylan Magda, who placed 4th in the 100 breaststroke (54.52) before winning the 200 breaststroke the next day in a new personal best of 1:57.31.

Joining Lin in Poughkeepsie, NY this fall are Finn Davis, TJ Hannigan, Chris Sweeney and Brian Wukitch. Both Davis, a native of Maryland and Sweeney, a New Yorker, are breaststrokers, with Davis holding personal best of 56.38 and 2:04.00, while Sweeney has been as fast as 57.24 and 2:08.61.
