Speaking at last year’s Bloodstock Open Air festival, Campos said, “We've been talking about writing some new material, some new songs. We have a documentary that's in the works right now. So we're gonna finish that first. And then, once we drop that, then we'll revisit going in and writing some new material.”

The documentary, titled Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, And Regeneration Of Static-X, was first teased in March 2024 during the 25th anniversary celebration of the band’s breakout album Wisconsin Death Trip.

“Thank you all for 25 years of amazing memories… So much more to come!”

“I think it's gonna be cool, man. It's gonna be a really cool look back at the history of the band and the history of Wayne and how he affected all our lives,” Campos said.

The group released six studio albums before officially breaking up in 2013. Wayne Static died in 2014 at age 48. According to the coroner’s report, the musician died after mixing Xanax and other prescription drugs with alcohol.

Since reforming, the band has released Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 and Project: Regeneration Vol. 2, both featuring archived vocal recordings from Wayne Static alongside new material.
