A popular piece of patio furniture sold at Costco is being recalled, with customers being warned to stop using the piece “immediately” and multiple injuries reported after parts broke off.
The recall notice, for the Agio-Menlo Woven Patio Swing, was issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission May 14. Costco sent recall notices to members the same day.
According to the recall, the swing can detach from the frame while in use, posing a “risk of serious injury or death” from falling. As many as 18,500 units sold at Costco between Feb. 2026 and March 2026 were recalled.
The swings, from World Bright International, have a black metal frame, black metal swing arms, a fabric canopy and a brown padded wicker seat. They were exclusively sold at Costco stores, the notice said, with serial number 1934256.
Eight reports of swing seats detaching from the frames were reported, the recall notice said, resulting in eight reports of injury including impacts to the head and arms.
“You should stop using the swing immediately,” Costco’s notice said, with customers encouraged to contact World Bright for replacement hooks.
A safety notice recall posted to Agio brand website described the recall as voluntary.
“On behalf of ourselves and Costco, we want to thank you for your support and cooperation, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this recall may cause,” Agio’s notice said.
