The final day of swimming has concluded in Tempe, with a few more solid performances to close out the 2026 Sun Devil Open.

Some of the meet’s notable names were back in action on Sunday evening, including Patrick Sammon, who won the men’s 100 free by a near full second over his former college teammate Jonny Kulow. Sammon took the win in 48.60, a touch faster than he was at the Ft Lauderdale Open a few weeks ago (48.76), but still off of his best time in 2026 of 47.90 at the Lausanne Swim Cup in March. Kulow finished 2nd in 49.45, and sounding out the top five (and only other swimmers under 50 seconds) were Quin Seider (49.55), Remi Fabiani (49.57), and Adam Chaney (49.79).

Ilya Kharun turned in the only sub-2:02 performance in the men’s 200 fly, touching in 1:58.08, well ahead of runner-up finisher Joel Nance in 2:02.47. Kharun’s fastest time this season came at the US Open in December, where he clocked 1:55.71, which makes him the #18 performer in the world this season.

On the women’s side, Albane Cachot stormed to the win in the women’s 100 free, stopping the clock in 54.37. That time is only two-tenths off of her lifetime best, which she swam at the European Junior Championships in July in 54.17.

16-year-old Adelyn Burns picked up a big win in the women’s 200 breast, touching over a full second ahead of the field in 2:37.88. She was one of two 16-year-olds in the ‘A’ final of that race.

The men’s 200 breast was won by Brayden Taivassalo, who controlled this race from start to finish, ultimately finishing over three seconds ahead of the rest of the field in 2:18.60, which was actually more than a second slower than his prelims performance of 2:17.42.
