The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts searing hot temperatures across most of the country on Monday.
The weather will be mild to slightly hot in the morning, growing very hot during the day in most areas, and remaining hot along the northern coast and milder at night.
The EMA expects temperatures to reach 38C in Greater Cairo and the Lower Egypt, 43C in northern Upper Egypt, while southern Upper Egypt will experience a peak of 47C.
The northern coast meanwhile will see temperatures of 28C.
Weather maps warn of intermittent sandstorms affecting parts of Greater Cairo, the Western Desert, Upper Egypt, and the Red Sea Governorate.
There is also a chance of suspended dust during the day in some exposed areas from northern Egypt to northern Upper Egypt and the Suez Canal cities.
The EMA indicates a slight chance of light rain in parts of the northern coast and northern Lower Egypt at intervals, along with the possibility of low clouds forming over scattered areas of southern Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and the Suez Canal cities, which may occasionally produce light, insignificant drizzle.
The EMA urged citizens to avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours and to drink plenty of water, especially given the continued heat across most of the country.
