During the Tuesday, May 12 episode of the Today show, Dreyer interviewed Alix Earle and explained to cohosts Al Roker and Craig Melvin that she and the social media influencer are second cousins.
Earle—who has four younger siblings—agreed, saying, "My family's huge."
The Dancing With The Stars alum then revealed that she almost pursued a career in broadcast journalism after watching her cousin on TV "all the time" when she was a kid.
Despite their family connection, the pair actually met for the first time recently after their careers caused them to cross paths.
"This is so cool getting to sit here and do this with you," Earle added of their time together on Today, adding it was "such a special day."
Ironically enough, this is not the first time a Today host has discovered a surprising celebrity relative. In fact, in 2011, Al Roker revealed live on-air that he is a distant cousin of Lenny Kravitz.
