CIF North Coast Sectional Championships

May 7-9 Novato, CA SCY (25 yards) Results 

Based on their performance at last week’s CIF North Coast Sectional Meet, both Amador Valley junior Cade Vieler and Castro Valley junior Khanh Seaton look to be in good form entering this weekend’s CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships.

In the team standings, Campolindo won the girls’ title by 30 points over Carondelet, while De La Salle claimed the boys crown by six points over Amador Valley.

Girls’ Recap 

Seaton, a Michigan commit, won the 50 free in 22.02 and the 100 free in 48.58, both personal best times. Her time in the 50 free is 44th all-time in the girls’ 17-18 age group. Seaton will head to the state meet looking to improve on a ninth-place finish in the 100 free last year.

The other -multi- event winner was San Ramon Valley sophomore Daniela Linares Danzos, who claimed the 100 fly in 53.61 and the 100 back in 52.94, both personal best times. Her time in the 100 back is 79th all-time in the girls’ 15-16 age group.

The top-three finishers in each swimming event at the sectional qualified for the state meet.

200 Free — 1. McKinley Scobie (Foothill), 1:47.15

200 IM — 1. Brooke Bennett (Granada), 2:01.83

1-meter Diving — 1. Molly Lynch (Miramonte), 449.80.

500 Free — 1. Bella Ferguson (Carondelet), 4:49.95.

200 Free Relay — 1. Campolindo, 1:34.93.

100 Breast — 1. Taylor Bennett (Granada), 1:03.00.

400 Free Relay — 1. Campolindo, 3:24.36.

Girls’ Team Standings — Top 5

Campolindo, 272 Carondelet, 242 San Ramon Valley, 224 Amador Valley, 178.5 Monte Vista, 175

Boys’ Recap

Committed to Princeton, Vieler won the boys’ 100 free in 44.06 and the 100 back in a personal best time of 47.23 in the boys’ competition to once again qualify for the state meet. Last year, Vieler was 18th in the 100 back and 19th in the 200 free at last year’s state meet.

Another multi-event winner among the boys was Vieler’s teammate, Amador Valley junior Kealan Tupper, a Northwestern commit who won the 200 free in 1:36.69 and the 500 free in 4:23.40, both personal best times.

Tupper was 14th in the 200 IM at last year’s state meet.

200 IM — 1. Tim Wu (Dougherty Valley), 1:45.79.

50 Free — 1. Ellis Culleton (Campolindo), 20.47.

200 Free Relay — 1. De La Salle, 1:22.72.

100 Breast — 1. Ethan Wang (Foothill), 54.91.

400 Free Relay — 1. Amador Valley, 3:01.94.
