The long-running movie franchise, which began in 2001 with The Fast and the Furious, is set to come to an end with the upcoming 12th instalment, Fast Forever, which is slated to be released in 2028.
Speaking during NBCUniversal’s Upfronts presentation in New York City on Monday (11 May), the actor, who has played Dominic Toretto in each Fast and Furious movie, said: "For the last decade, we have realised that the fans have wanted more."
He continued: "They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space that Fallon has mastered."
