Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Queen Creek, Arizona’s Grant Kellis, originally committed to Brigham Young University, has announced his intention to swim and study at Indiana University beginning next fall.
“After a lot of prayer and reflection, I have decided to take a different path and I am beyond excited to continue my academic and swimming career at Indiana University! I’m so grateful for Coach Ray and I’m excited to join such an incredible team. Thank you to everyone who has been in my corner during this journey. Go Hoosiers!”
Kellis is a senior at Higley High School. As a senior last fall at the 2025 Arizona AIA Division I State Championships, he won the 200 free with a PB of 1:38.18 and placed 4th in the 500 free (4:30.80). A month later, he competed at Winter Juniors West, where he improved his lifetime bests in the 50 free (21.04), 100 free (44.46), 200 free (1:34.44), 500 free (4:22.77), and 200 back (1:46.56). He won the 200 free, placed 7th in the 500 free, and touched 16th in the 200 back.
Kellis, who swims year-round with Gold Medal Swim Club, has been on a massive improvement campaign during his senior year of high school. He dropped 3.4 seconds in the 200 back, 4 in the 200 free, and 8.8 in the 500 free.
His best times would have ranked among Indiana’s top 5 in the 200 free (behind Aaron Shackell, Owen McDonald, Mira Knedlla, and Kai Van Westering), adding relay value to his individual event potential.
Top SCY times:
100 free – 44.46 200 free – 1:34.44 500 free – 4:22.77 100 back – 50.83 200 back – 1:46.56He will join swimmers Gabriel Manteufel, Elliot Rijnovean, Sam Wolf, Brody Engelstad, Carter Hadley, Landon Fike, Matt Krause, Oliver Dawson, and diver Mason Mankey, in the Hoosiers’ class of 2030.
