Ostrava, Czechia April 17-19, 2025 LCM (50 Meters) Full Meet Results

The Czechia Grand Prix series kicked off in the middle of April with in Ostrava, and some of the top Czech swimmers were in action.

On the women’s side, Barbora Seemanova made her season debut, swimming three events, the 50, 100, and 200 free; she won the gold medal in all three.

This was also her first meet back since she withdrew from the 2025 European SC Championships with an illness.

Seemanova was a little off her lifetime bests at the meet, swimming 25.75 in the 50 free final, about a second off her lifetime best of 24.67. In the 100 free, she stopped the clock in 54.79, a second add from her 53.50 best time. Finally, she swam 1:58.06 in the 200 free, a three second add from her 1:55.12 best.

She told the Czech swimming media, “I’m happy. I swam really well, but i’m most happy that I told myself before the start that I would swim 54.7, and I did 54.7.”

On the men’s side of the meet, Damien Joly and Jan Cejka led the way with top performances.

Joly, a distance freestyler, won the 400 free, 800 free, and 1500 frees He was also off his lifetime bests in all three. He swam 4:01.55 in the 400 free, 8:08.86 in the 800 free, and 15:22.30 in the 1500 freestyle.

Cejka picked up a gold medal in the 100 backstroke, (55.14) in the 200 back (1:58.79). He also finished 2nd in the 50 back (25.93).

There were a few notable performances from younger athletes. Anastasiia Mikhalevich swam six individual events, winning gold medals in all six. Mikhalevich won the 100 back (1:07.37), 50 fly (27.68), 100 fly (1:00.48), 200 fly (2:11.24), 200 IM (2:20.88), and 400 IM (4:56.72).
