Hyderabad: In a major recognition of spectacular success of an afforestation programme, Hyderabad has become the only Indian city to get the tag of “Global Tree City”. The 431-year old city, once known as the city of gardens and lakes, has been included in the global list of 120 cities for 2020 jointly by the Arbor Day Foundation and the Food and Agriculture Organization. The list includes the cities from 23 countries including from the developed countries USA, UK, Canada and Australia.
