Though it received positive reviews, it was criticized for its runtime (clocking in at about 160 minutes) and bombed at the box office. The Assassination of Jesse James earned two Academy Award nominations, including Best Supporting Actor for Affleck and Best Cinematography for Deakins. In addition, Affleck was nominated for a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and a Critics' Choice Award, while Pitt won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor.
