A reward is being offered in the search for a suspect accused of shooting and killing a National Guardsman in Chicago in 2021.
The alert issued by the FBI this week is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of 43-year-old Joseph Matos, who is accused of shooting and killing Chrys Carjaval as he left a party on July 3, 2021.
It is alleged Matos and a fellow gang member randomly shot and killed Carjaval in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, according to the FBI.
Matos is believed to be a member of the Milwaukee Kings street gang, and an arrest warrant has been issued on charges of murder and assault, as well as narcotics trafficking, according to police.
He is an Hispanic male, standing 6-feet-2 inches tall and weighing approximately 220 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
According to the FBI alert, Matos has multiple tattoos, including “M-Town Kings” on the right side of his neck and “1300” on the left side of his neck. He also has “Move in Silence” on his right hand and “Trust No One” on his left hand.
He has “Heavensent, Hellbound” on his forearms.
He has multiple aliases, including “Troubles” and “Joey.”
