A practical floor TV stand with strong build quality, flexible positioning, and subtle LED lighting at a budget-friendly price
buy from amazonWe will get into why but I have been in the market for a new TV stand since last year and when I had the opportunity to take a look at this Perlegear Floor stand with LED lights I just couldn’t resist, what’s the worst that could happen!
Perlegear has a huge array of TV stands to choose from, from small to large from basic to complex. I got my hands on their new LED Floor TV stand, so that is what we will be taking a look at!
Unboxing.
I’ve done this enough times to know what I am getting myself into but when I picked up this box, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall weight, from the online images it appears to be smaller in size so knowing it has some weight to it gives me a good feeling about the quality of the product and the balance of it.
Unboxing is as straight forward as it comes, you have your Labeled and bagged items like screws, tools and all the necessary mounting hardware for the stand and the tv mount. and then you have all the rest of the components, the instructions were easy to follow and the construction of the stand was easy enough that my son and I had it up in less than a half hour, and that is using the provided tools.
OH, I almost forgot. Just a little pro tip when putting it together, they give you a washer that has two way tape to be a separator between two pieces of metal, well you have to get that lined up over the hole, perfectly or you won’t be able to get your bolt through, so to make it a perfect fit, go ahead and pull the backing tape off, push the bolt through the hole and let the washer slide down acting as the perfect guide, doing this will give you a perfect placement with out any headache.
Build Quality and Design.
This thing is surprisingly sturdy. It’s rated for up to 110 lbs, and my little 43” tv sits on it with zero wobble. Even when I swivel it back and forth it seems to stay nice and tight. I am going to be upgrading to a 55” so I’m curious to see how it handles that. The base is wide and heavy enough to keep it stable, and the solid wood base looks great and the small black shelf matches the base keeping everything very clean and uniform.
I planned on primarily using it in the middle of my living room basically so of course it tipping worries with the kids or dogs running around. The pole is thick steel, powder-coated black, and the heavy base gives me a little assurance that it will be just fine in that environment.
One of the best parts I have to say is the adjustable height levels. You can adjust the pole, the bracket position, and even the mounting arms in multiple spots, so you really can dial in the perfect eye-level height. For me, I am going to be pretty close to it on the couch so being able to fine tune the placement was refreshing.
It also has a swivel and tilt. The swiveling is smooth enough to turn toward the couch or even the kitchen area when I’m in the kitchen but it’s also strong enough it doesn’t just float around on its own, you have to put a little force into it for it to move. The tilt helps cut glare from our windows during daytime viewing. It’s not full-motion like some expensive wall mounts, but for a floor stand it gives you plenty of flexibility especially at its price point.
The LED Lights are a little underwhelming during the day in a lit room, with the lights on you can see a faint glow of them behind the tv, but when you have the lights off, they are positioned in a good spot where you do get a nice casting that seems to engulf the wall behind the tv in the glow of your chosen color. You can control the LED lights in several convenient ways, either through the mobile app, the included remote control, or even a wired wall switch if you prefer. (i tucked mine up behind the tv so the kids couldn’t mess with them haha) The customization options are pretty good for an included light with over 16 million colors to choose from, fully adjustable brightness, different speeds, dozens of preset modes, and even a built-in timer so you can set it to turn on or off automatically.
One of my kids favorite features is the sound-sync mode. That is where the lights react to music, movies, or game audio, changing colors in rhythm with whatever’s playing. Do you want lights that bounce around with the music, or maybe just a soft colorful glow, you can have fun picking and choosing whatever flavor you’re in the mood for!
User Experience.
So I got this stand for one reason and one reason only, Football haha, so I’ve been needing a second tv for when we watch the games on sunday and Ive brought out another tv or a monitor and set it up on the coffee table, and that was getting old and I wanted something a little more permanent. What I was thinking is if I just had a small tv stand that I can leave the tv on and place in a closet, and I think I may have stumbled on just that!
We shall see! For now I have the stand up and the kids are using it because they like the LED lights on the stand haha, I think for what im going to use it for, I will be extremely happy with it, the small shelf is perfect for drinks or remotes, it stays strong and sturdy not feeling like it is going to tip or spill a glass of water, on hardwood or carpet. If I have to be picky about this unit I would have to say that the LED lights could be brighter, allowing for a richer glow of light during the day. Overall I would say it’s a solid TV stand.
Price.
You can head on over to Amazon and pick up the Perlegear Floor stand for a list price of $129.99 but is currently on sale for $99.99. You can always head straight to their main webpage and find this same stand for a price of $140.99 with occasional sales, but at the time of this article it would appear Amazon has the sale price and they don’t.
Conclusion.
Overall the TV stand feels well-built, stable, and thoughtfully designed. If you’re in an apartment, rental, or just don’t want to drill into walls, this is a fantastic alternative to traditional TV stands or wall mounts especially if space saving is necessary. I’m excited to have this over the alternative methods I was using last year haha, for the meantime my kids are going to put it through its paces and enjoy those LED lights.
Going through their webpage, I came across one that may have suited my needs better as it does actually have casters on the base plate, that would be handy for moving the tv into the living room for when football it on, but for being in the kids room i certainly would have picked something more stable like the Floor tv stand. I have to say, for the price i dont have many complaints, yeah the LEDS are not the brightest, but it performs exceedingly well in every other aspect and even excels in the adjustability. Thank you guys so much for reading, I hope I was able to shed some insight on this Floor stand brought to you by Perlegear!
