After posting an original top 25 following Indiana’s national championship victory over Miami, ESPN is now back with another Way-Too-Early rankings for next year. A total of 8 SEC teams cracked ESPN’s list — and 4 of those 8 are located in the top 10.
To nobody’s surprise, Georgia and Texas lead the way for the SEC, coming in at No. 3 and No. 5 on ESPN’s rankings. Ole Miss is next in line at No. 9, with Texas A&M rounding out the top 10 at No. 10.
Each of these rankings makes a lot of sense. Every SEC team listed above returns its starting quarterback from last season, including Texas’ Arch Manning who will likely be playing his final season of college football. Gunner Stockton and the Georgia offense will once again enjoy a top-tier defense to cover any mistakes, too.
LSU and Oklahoma are just outside the top 10, coming in at No. 11 and No. 13, respectively. Alabama and Tennessee are also considered top 25 teams, listed at No. 16 and No. 25.
