The entire story of this game changed when Frank Nazar got hit in the face by a puck early in the second period. His reaction was immediate — and it was not good. Coming from a guy who already suffered a facial injury this season that cost him three weeks, this was frustrating to see. The Blackhawks ruled him out for the third period the game.

— BHF (@BlackhawksFocus) April 11, 2026The rest of this game was tremendously mediocre from both sides. The Blackhawks started with only five true defensemen in the lineup and then lost Nazar for two-thirds of the game. The Blues wont he game, but they aren’t good. They just weren’t as bad as the Blackhawks on this afternoon/evening.
Star 1: Ilya Mikheyev
Mikheyev absolutely unloaded this shot to beat Joel Hofer in the second to give the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead. He’s been so good defensively this season, and he scored his 17th and 18th goals of the year. He also established a new career high of 36 points. The second goal was the 200th point of his career as well.

Greene moved back in to sole possession of the top spot on the Blackhawks’ rookie goal scoring leaderboard with his tenth of the year in the first period.

Duncan Keith, Steve Larmer and the Murray Family got their roses on Saturday. Long standing ovations with each tribute. And I will say, well done by the St. Louis Blues entire bench tapping their sticks on the boards during the applause for Troy Murray — and the official who took an extra few seconds before dropping the puck so the teams and fans could show their love for Troy a little longer.

— Chicago Blackhawks (@NHLBlackhawks) April 11, 2026Key Takeaways
Bedard and Nazar both won 5 of 6 faceoffs in the first period. Nazar finished his day having won 7 of 9 faceoffs. Bedard obviously had to take more once Nazar left the lineup and he continued to win more than 50 percent of his draws. Sacha Boisvert picked up his first career assist on Mikheyev’s goal and had a nice day at the dot, even if his ice time was limited again. Arvid Söderblom was actually pretty good for about 30 minutes to start this game. But the Blackhawks starting the game down a defenseman and then losing Nazar early in the second made the flow of anything/everything a hot mess. In the middle of the third period, Andrew Mangiapane crashed into the net on a rush and was slow to get up. He went straight to the room. This game started with Sam Lafferty on the ice — as a defenseman. Ethan Del Mastro was a scratch (due to injury, not illness) so Lafferty was in the lineup, and got the start.Hence then, the article about blackhawks 3 blues 5 three stars key takeaways was published today ( ) and is available on Bleacher Nation ( Middle East ) The editorial team at PressBee has edited and verified it, and it may have been modified, fully republished, or quoted.
