Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Isabella Zarkos from Las Vegas, Nevada has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Boston College beginning in fall 2027.
“I’m so excited and honored to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Boston College! I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my parents for their unwavering love, belief and support and to my siblings for their constant encouragement. I’m also deeply grateful to my coaches, Jake and Ron, and my teammates at Sandpipers of Nevada for shaping me into the swimmer I am today. Finally, a big thank you to Coach Bruno and Coach Dara for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait for what’s ahead! GO EAGLES!”
Zarkos swims for Sandpipers of Nevada and most recently competed at the Pro Series in Westmont. There she swam a lifetime best 5:16.93 long course meters 400 IM for 19th. Her highest finish came in the 1500 free as she swam a 17:36.12 for 17th.
Back in December, Zarkos had a strong showing at Sectionals in Walnut. There she swam to lifetime bests in all of her events and was highlighted by a 2nd place finish in the 1650 free as she swam a 16:42.03 and a 7th place finish in the 500 free with a 4:59.38.
Zarkos’s Best SCY Times Are:
1650 free: 16:42.03 1000 free: 9:59.17 500 free: 4:58.61The Boston College women finished 15th out of 15 programs at the 2026 ACC Championships. The team scored all 98 points in relays.
Zarkos’s best time in the 1650 free would have been the fastest on Boston College’s roster this past season as Emma McNulty was the only swimmer to race the event at ACCs as she swam a 17:34.57. Zarkos would have scored in the event at ACCs as she would have finished 20th. Boston College notably had no individual points at 2026 ACCs, so Zarkos is a huge addition to the program. It took a 4:46.29 to score in the 500 free.
Zarkos will arrive in fall 2027 as a member of the class of 2031 along with Avery Tack (mid-distance free/IM), Mia Briant (distance free), and Olivia White (back). Briant has a best time 17:19.89 in the 1650 free, so the two have the potential to be strong training partners all four years.
