ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The clipper that brought us snow showers and a chill on Tuesday continues to move away. At the same time, a big area of high pressure moves overhead. This will continue to clear our sky out Tuesday night and into Wednesday, which means plenty of sunshine mid-week. Wednesday starts off with a chill in the lower 20s, we’ll warm back into the lower 50s by the afternoon with lots of sun and less wind. So Wednesday will be a beautiful early Spring day across the Rochester region.
Thursday will be our warmest day this week, with highs in the mid 60s with the help of a stronger southerly wind. Sunshine to start the day will give way to more afternoon clouds and perhaps a late day shower or two as our next cold front approaches. This front will stall out over us on Friday, leading to a somewhat cooler, cloudy and unsettled day with off and on rain showers. Rain won’t be heavy, so flooding concerns remain low and we stay green on the Threat Tracker.
At this point, the weekend looks pretty good. We should see dry weather, although a cooler start with highs in the 40s to near 50 on Saturday. Sunday will be the warmer weekend day with highs back to near 60, and 70s remain in the forecast into early next week.
