Dubai Municipality has revealed plans to invest Dh348m ($94.7m) in the development of 35 new parks across the emirate this year.
The initiative forms part of the Dubai Parks and Greenery Strategy, under the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

Covering an area of over 340,000m2, the new parks will serve 23 residential communities.
According to the Government of Dubai, the majority of these public spaces will be located within a five-minute walk of surrounding neighbourhoods, and designs focus on open, unfenced layouts that encourage daily use and promote inclusive access.
Park features include children’s playgrounds, sports facilities, running and cycling tracks, open green spaces, water features, shaded seating, and dedicated areas for food and beverages.
Dubai Municipality stated that environmental resilience will be central to the parks’ development through approaches such as expanded tree planting, climate adaptation measures, and the use of recycled irrigation water and renewable energy.
The parks’ operations will also leverage AI and robotics to manage resource efficiency and support ecological balance.
Dubai Municipality Public Facilities Agency CEO Bader Anwahi said: “Dubai Municipality continues to accelerate the delivery of public and neighbourhood parks in line with the Dubai Parks and Greenery Strategy and the Blue and Green Spaces Roadmap 2030.
“This portfolio reflects our commitment to expanding integrated public spaces within a human-centric urban ecosystem that enhances wellbeing and strengthens social cohesion.
“By ensuring parks are within walking distance and designed around the evolving needs of communities, we are setting a new benchmark for the role of public spaces in improving quality of life and supporting sustainable urban growth across the emirate.”
The plan is in line with the Municipality’s Blue and Green Spaces Roadmap 2030, which sets out a broader five-year development plan.
Under this roadmap, it aims to deliver over 120 parks and more than 200 sports and recreational facilities at an estimated total investment exceeding Dh4bn.
Projects also support the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, with private sector involvement encouraged through Public-Private Partnership models.
This approach seeks to accelerate delivery, diversify the local economy, and optimise the value of public spaces.
Dubai Municipality has implemented a centralised, data-driven methodology to guide park locations, facility planning, and consistent quality standards.
Plans include the establishment of five integrated zones across all new parks, accommodating early childhood areas, active play, youth and adult sports, social and food facilities, and adaptable spaces for community gatherings.
Looking ahead, the authority aims to provide 310 new parks and upgrade over 220 existing ones by 2040, creating a connected network of public spaces for residents throughout Dubai.
