Dubai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Sunday served a notice to Rujira Banerjee, wife of Abhishek Banerjee — Trinamool Congress (TMC) member of parliament and nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee — over reported discrepancies in Rujira’s bank account, which could be trailed to the coal smuggling case that is currently being probed by CBI. According to a section of the national media in India, Abhishek has been told by CBI to join the coal scam probe.
