Denison’s Jack Hill became the first Division III swimmer to ever break the 1:34 second mark in the men’s 200 free. Hill swam to a 1:33.94 in his win, breaking the previous D3 record of a 1:34.74 set by TCNJ’s James McChesney back in 2023.

The junior Hill was faster on the first 100, flipping at a 45.44 at the halfway mark, faster than McChesney’s 46.00 at the 100 mark. Hill continued to have a strong 3rd 50 and was only 0.08 slower on the closing 50.

Hill becomes the first Denison man since 2019 to win the event when Drake Horton won the 200 free in a 1:37.75. This was only the 5th time that a man from Denison has won the 200 free. Despite being one of the powerhouse Division III swimming programs, this is the only D3 individual swimming record that the Denison men hold.
