2026 NCAA DIII Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships

March 18-21, 2026 Location: IUPUI Natatorium, Indianapolis IN Defending Champs: MIT women (1x) & Denison men (1x) Official Psych Sheet (Combined) Invited Swimmer By Team Invited Divers SwimSwam’s Psych Sheet Breakdown SwimSwam’s “Scoring Out The Psych Sheet” Article With the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships set to begin Wednesday, March 18, SwimSwam took a deep dive into entry times to identify which records are most at risk of falling. Last year saw 11 records fall, with six coming on the men’s side and five on the women’s, and based on this year’s entry times, another record book rewrite looks to be on the horizon. Using the formula below, we calculated how close the top entry times are to the current DIII records across all 40 events.

Refresher Of The Current NCAA Division III Records

Event Men’s Record Women’s Record 50 Free 19.37 22.15 100 Free 42.88 48.13 200 Free 1:34.74 1:44.74 500 Free 4:18.35 4:43.37 1000 Free 9:03.58 9:49.81 100 Back 45.75 53.29 200 Back 1:41.17 1:55.67 100 Breast 50.94 59.62 200 Breast 1:50.88 2:10.06 100 Fly 45.97 52.64 200 Fly 1:42.64 1:55.66 200 IM 1:42.97 1:57.76 400 IM 3:46.62 4:11.23 200 Free Relay 1:18.06 1:30.00 400 Free Relay 2:53.59 3:18.46 800 Free Relay 6:26.98 7:13.02 200 Medley Relay 1:25.57 1:39.51 400 Medley Relay 3:09.78 3:38.05

The Formula

To measure how close each event is to a record, we used the following:

% Off Record=((Top Entry Time − DIII Record) ÷ DIII Record) × 100

The closer to zero, the more danger the record is in.

Men’s Records Under Threat

Of the 40 events being contested across both genders, 23 have at least one active swimmer ranked in the DIII all-time top 10. The men account for 16 of those events, with 17 individual swimmers from 11 schools (Denison, Kenyon, CMU, Bates, UChicago, NYU, Emory, Grove City College, Centre, and Conn College) making appearances on all-time lists.

The men’s 100 free stands out as the marquee event of the entire meet. Five swimmers within 0.28 of the record is, to our knowledge, unprecedented at the DIII level, and based on entry times alone, it may well take a record-breaking swim just to win the event. The men’s 200 free is in a similar position, with four swimmers at 1:36.04 or faster and the top two within 0.47 of the DIII standard.

50 Free: Djordjie Dragojlovic (Kenyon) and Max Cory (Bates) are both entered at 19.53, tied for 7th all time and 0.16 off the record. 100 Free: Five swimmers are within 0.28 of the record. Max Cory (Bates), the current record holder, leads the field at 42.92, just 0.04 off his own mark. Matthew Peitler (CMU, 43.08), Djordjie Dragojlovic (Kenyon, 43.13), Charles Platt (Calvin, 43.15), and John Butler (UChicago, 43.16) round out the group. 200 Free: Four men are at 1:36.04 or faster. Jack Hill (Denison) enters at 1:35.18, just 0.44 off the record, followed by John Butler (UChicago, 1:35.21), Djordjie Dragojlovic (Kenyon, 1:36.00), and Matthew Peitler (CMU, 1:36.04). 100 Back: Keith McQuaid (NYU) is entered at 46.67, ranked 9th all time and 0.92 off the record. 200 Back: Teddy Cross (NYU) leads the field at 1:42.74, ranked 3rd all time and 1.57 off the record. 100 Breast: Three men are in the top 10: Marrich Somridhivej (Bates, 51.85), Henri Bonnault (Emory, 52.61), and Caleb Einolf (Grove City, 52.79). 200 Breast: Carrick Shea (Conn College, 1:55.12) and Tiernan Moore (Centre, 1:56.26) both appear on the all-time list. 100 Fly: Cooper Costello (UChicago), the record holder, leads at 46.39, with Brayden Morford (CMU, 46.44) right behind. 200 Fly: Cooper Costello (UChicago) enters at 1:42.91, just 0.27 off the record. 200 IM: Brayden Morford (CMU, 1:45.50) and Cooper Costello (UChicago, 1:46.53) both appear in the top 10 all time. 400 IM: Max Nechydyuk (NYU, 3:48.76) and Crow Thorsen (Emory, 3:49.21) are both within 2.59 of the record. Relays: Multiple programs are threatening relay records. In the 200 medley relay, Bates enters at exactly the DIII record of 1:25.57. The 400 medley relay sees Bates (3:09.84) sitting just 0.06 off the record. UChicago, Denison, CMU, and NYU also appear across multiple relay all-time lists.

Women’s Records Under Threat

On the women’s side, eight events have active top-10 all-time performers, and three of them belong to the same swimmer: Kaley McIntyre of NYU. McIntyre enters the 50 free at 22.29, just 0.14 off her own record, and holds the current DIII records in both the 100 free (48.13) and 200 free (1:44.74), meaning she will be racing against her own marks in all three events.

Kelsey Van Eldik (Kenyon) is entered at 1:00.76 in the 100 breast, ranking 6th all time and sitting 1.14 off the record. Ella Pennington (Rowan) rounds out the individual top-10 appearances with a 53.87 entry in the 100 fly, 10th all time and 1.23 off the DII mark.

On the relay side, NYU appears in the top 10 all time in the 200 free relay (1:30.66), 400 free relay (3:19.94), and 800 free relay (7:13.06), the latter just 0.04 off their own record.
