UNC Men’s Basketball in the 2026 NCAA Tournament: How to Watch, Cord-Cutting Options and Tip-Off Times ...Middle East

News by : (chapelboro) -

UNC will begin its NCAA Tournament journey Thursday in Greenville, S.C. when it faces No. 11 seed VCU in the first round. It will be the first ever meeting between the Tar Heels and Rams in men’s basketball.

If you aren’t going to Greenville with the team, here’s how you can follow along at home:

Broadcast Schedule

Those hoping to listen on the radio can do so at 97.9 FM and 1360 AM.

97.9 The Hill’s radio broadcast of Thursday’s game will begin at 5 p.m. with Countdown to Tip-Off, hosted by Brighton McConnell. At 5:30 p.m., the broadcast will shift over to Jones Angell and the Tar Heel Sports Network for their pregame coverage until tip-off. They will also carry postgame coverage for approximately an hour after the conclusion of the game.

The NCAA Tournament’s exclusive national radio broadcast rights prevent 97.9 The Hill WCHL or any radio station from streaming the local radio calls of the NCAA Tournament basketball games on the internet. The only way to listen to 97.9 The Hill WCHL’s radio broadcast of the Tar Heel Sports Network’s call of UNC’s NCAA Tournament games is on an actual FM/AM radio. If you have a radio, you can catch our broadcast at 97.9 FM and 1360 AM, but you cannot access it through Chapelboro.com or any streaming service.

TV Schedule

Television coverage of Thursday’s game begins with the tip-off at 6:50 p.m. The game will be broadcast on TNT. As of today, Spectrum, AT&T, Dish Network, Xfinity and DirecTV all carry TNT.

What if I don’t have cable?

A live stream will be available on the NCAA March Madness app, which is available for free in the App Store for Apple and Android.

Additionally, several cord-cutting options carry TNT.

YouTube TV costs $83/month and carries TNT.

Hulu TV starts at $88/month and includes TNT, but does not carry NBA TV or NFL Red Zone.

Sling TV is the cheapest at $46/month. Both Sling Orange and Sling Blue carry TNT, although Sling Blue does not carry sports channels such as ESPN.
