ROCHESTER, N.Y. — You might’ve heard of “Bark in the Park,” held by the Rochester Red Wings, but now the dogs are taking over the ice rink.
For the first time since the 2018-19 season, the Rochester Americans are partnering with Lollypop Farm to host “Dogs Night Out,” on Wednesday, April 1, at their game against the Charlotte Checkers at Blue Cross Arena.
Fans who attend will be able to bring their furry friend. The team said on its website there will be “canine-friendly themed events,” the team said.
Those who plan to bring their dog will be seated in the “K9 Korner,” which will be in sections 211 – 213. Dogs won’t be allowed in other sections or the suite level, and fans can only bring one dog per person to the game.
On Feb. 24, Amerks forward Brendan Warren announced his initiative “War Dawg of the Week,” in partnership with Lollypop Farm.
Over the past weeks, the Amerks have highlighted various pets currently in the care of Lollypop Farm and available for adoption across the team’s social media platforms and also in-game during select home games.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about pet adoption and help more animals find new homes.
Tickets for the game on April 1 are priced at $20, the team said on its website, and include admission for both fans and their dog. The team said $5 from each ticket will be donated back to Lollypop Farm.
