SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (KEYT) - San Luis Obispo County is holding a grand opening Monday morning for its new $40 million Probation Department building.
The 34,000 square foot facility is located near the intersection of Bishop Street and Johnson Street and replaces a much older building that dates back to the 1940s.
The county has said the old site was in need of constant repair, short on space, and ill-suited for today’s Probation Department needs.
With the new building now finished, the county said it will enhance public safety, as well as support its rehabilitative mission.
