Arizona senior guard Jaden Bradley appeared to injure his left wrist in the early stages of the second half of the Wildcats’ 79-74 Big 12 Championship win over Houston, but X-rays came back negative on any possible bone break.
“When the doctor came out with a smile on his face, I was a little bit relieved,” head coach Tommy Lloyd said postgame.
Lloyd, who is closing out his fifth season at the helm of Arizona, added he was game-planning for the possibility of Bradley being out, but that he knew how tough the senior has been in his career.
He exited Saturday’s rematch of last year’s conference championship at the 17:40 mark after colliding with Houston’s Emmanuel Sharp. The Big 12 Player of the Year then returned from the locker room with his wrist and left index finger wrapped and took a seat on the Arizona bench before checking back into the game with 14:36 remaining.

After scoring 13 points in the first half, Bradley did not score in the second half.
Bradley did attempt a driving layup with his dominant hand (right) after re-entering the game and was 0 for 3 overall out of the break.
He closed with 35 minutes played despite the three minutes of absence and was 4 for 10 from the field (2 for 2 from 3-point range) while adding five rebounds and two assists.
Bradley won the tournament’s award for most outstanding player. He averaged 12 points (on 13-of-28 shooting), four rebounds and four assists in 32.3 minutes played across Arizona’s three games.
“We talk about beginner’s mindset a lot. Towards the end of the season, sometimes it’s tough, we do the same things over and over again,” Bradley said of how Arizona is approaching the NCAA Tournament. “It kind of gets boring, but we always come in with a fresh mindset, willing to get better. Just want to do the right thing for each other.”
The 6-foot-3 senior was the hero in Friday’s semifinal against the Iowa State Cyclones, hitting a contested fadeaway to punch Arizona’s ticket into the championship in Kansas City.
