Cubs Lineup — The Cubs are back at Sloan Field today with a 3:05 matchup against the Royals. But once again, there will be no way to follow this game live. I guess we’ll just have to wait for that WBC matchup between Mexico and Italy (with Team USA’s fate hanging in the balance) tonight at 6:00pm CT for our baseball fix.
In the meantime, here’s a look at the Cubs lineup this afternoon.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
Nico Hoerner, 2B Moises Ballesteros, DH Ian Happ, LF Dansby Swanson, SS Michael Conforto, RF Carson Kelly, C Dylan Carlson, CF Matt Shaw, 1B Pedro Ramirez, 3BNico Hoerner is taking the leadoff duties today, with Michael Busch on the bench. In Busch’s place on the field, Matt Shaw is getting his first reps at first base. I think that brings his spring training field experience up to: 3B, 2B, 1B, CF, and RF.
Dylan Carlson, meanwhile, is starting in center, continuing to look like he’s going to earn a spot on this team by Openign Day, with Michael Conforto out in right.
Moises Ballesteros is in the Cubs lineup again, albeit at DH, with Carson Kelly getting in some work behind the plate. We haven’t actually seen a lot of Kelly this spring (just 17 ABs) so far.
