ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 21-year-old man has been arrested after being accused of being involved in an online car sale scam and leading State Police on a chase.
Rochester Police say on Feb. 25, Jahsin Robinson had made arrangements with someone on Facebook Marketplace to sell them a car for about $3,200.
The two met on Green Knolls Drive. At the meeting, police say Robinson threatened the victim with what is believed to be a handgun and took his money before fleeing in the car he was supposed to sell the victim.
On Wednesday night, the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force found Robinson in a white Mercedes and tried to stop it. Police say after both a car and foot chase, Robinson was safely taken into custody in the area of North Clinton Avenue and Upper Falls Boulevard.
Robinson is charged with robbery and grand larceny. He was brought to the Monroe County Jail and is set to be arraigned Wednesday morning.
Police say additional charges were filed by State Police related to the chase. News10NBC is working to learn what those charges are. Check back later for any updates.

In one case, a victim from East Bloomfield purchased a Chevy Impala online on Dec. 5, paying in cash. However, on Dec. 29, the car was repossessed due to it being in default. And when the car was reregistered, the DMV notified the lien holder.
The car, according to the sheriff’s office, was sold by Ulises Hernandez Jr., who was arrested By Manlius Police, in Syracuse, for similar activities.
