March 5 – March 8, 2026 Justin, Texas SCY (25 yards) Psych Sheets Meet Central Recaps: Day 1 | Day 2 Results: Meet Mobile “LAC Spring Speedo Sectionals”Magnolia Aquatic Club’s Cullen Kahl stunned in the boys’ 400 IM on day 3 of the Justin Sectionals, throwing down a lifetime best time of 3:49.65 to mark the 11th-fastest time in the boys’ 15-16 age group so far this season.
The 15-year-old claimed silver in the event, racing into the wall two seconds behind winner Jackson Hartzler (3:47.43) to log Kahl’s highest-placing performance of the meet so far.
Kahl knocked almost seven seconds off of his previous personal best (3:56.41) from 2024 over the course of the day, posting a time of 3:53.80 during prelims before lowering his time again during finals.
Kahl’s performance also landed him at 59th on the ranking of all-time top times in the 400 IM for his age group.
Kahl has been on a hot streak during this competition, setting new lifetime best times in each of his individual races. He placed 11th in the 200 back (1:48.07) and 200 breast (1:59.58), and he finished 6th during the prelims of the 100 breast (55.17) but opted out of finals in that event.
Kahl also helped Magnolia to a 16th-place finish in the boys’ 200 medley relay, splitting 25.40 on the breaststroke leg.
Also turning in a notable performance on Saturday was Tyler Rose Aquatic Club’s Madalyn Petty, who logged another top-ranking swim en route to winning the girls’ 400 IM. Petty posted a winning time of 4:16.14, marking the only sub-4:20 performance in the field and the 24th-fastest time this season in the girls’ 15-16 age group.
Petty came into the meet with a best time of 4:23.52, which she set back in December 2024, before knocking over seven seconds off of her lifetime best over the course of the day. Her victory in the 400 IM landed her her third win of the competition, having won the 500 free (4:43.22) and 1000 free (9:39.21) earlier this weekend.
Other Day 3 Even Winners and Highlights:
The girls’ 50 back went to 15-year-old Avery Daigle of Franco’s Fins, winning the event in 24.82. The only other competitor under 25 seconds was runner-up NamAnh Truong of Hill Country Aquatics, who touched in 24.84 to shave .08 off of her personal best. Texas Ford Aquatics’ Mason Schroeder, who is a senior at University of Nebraska in Omaha, won the boys’ 50 back in 22.41. He narrowly out-touched runner-up Grady Bell from Nitro Swimming; the 16-year-old Florida State commit logged a best time of 22.55. Lily Andruss of Lakeside Aquatic Club won the girls’ 200 free in 1:48.23. The boys’ 200 free saw Swim Streamline’s Micah Tennison bring home the crown with a time of 1:35.78. The Texas A&M commit was just .6 off his best, while Hill Country Aquatics’ Sawyer Stolarczyk took 2nd in 1:35.91 and shaved .7 off of his best time. Ella McWhorter completed a sweep of the breaststroke events and logged the only sub-1:02 performance of the night in the girls’ 100 breast. Another Texas A&M commit, McWhorter stopped the clock in 1:01.64. Mitch Mason, an LSU alum who swims for Texas Ford Aquatics, prevailed in the boys’ 100 breast with a time of 53.14. Behind him, 44-year-old TFA teammate James Fike snagged the runner-up spot in 53.34. The girls’ 100 fly went to Cadence Johnson of the Houston Bridge Bats, who shaved .03 off of her personal best time to take home the title in 53.84. Daigle took the runner-up spot behind her in 53.97, logging the only other sub-54 performance in the field. Lakeside Aquatic Club’s Maxwell Stanislaus blasted a 46.88 in the 100 fly, shaving .34 off his lifetime best and landing at #20 on the ranking of top times this season in the boys’ 17-18 age group. 14-year-old Jadyn Sun, who swims for Metroplex Aquatics, placed 3rd in the girls’ 400 IM. The youngest competitor in the finals, Sun stopped the clock in 4:24.61 and shaved .82 off of her lifetime best. Her swim landed her at #31 on the ranking of top times this season in the girls’ 13-14 age group. Nitro Swimming took home the title in the girls’ 800 free relay thanks to the team of Scout House, Brooke Frushour, Sophie Jones and Abigail Halko, who combined for a time of 7:29.30. House’s opening split of 1:51.66 marked a significant personal best time for her, dropping over a second from her previous lifetime best (1:53.16). The boys’ 800 free relay saw Nitro Swimming pick up another victory.
