Battle of Tanktastic Triple-Doubles as Russell Westbrook’s Kings Overpower Josh Giddey’s Bulls, 126-110 ...Middle East

Sport by : (Bleacher Nation) -

After a surprise road upset over the postseason-bound Phoenix Suns on Thursday, the Chicago Bulls appeared set to win their third game in their last four contests and further upset their lottery odds for the 2026 NBA Draft on Sunday. Chicago’s five-game road trip continued in Sacramento, where the club faced off against the lowly Kings — the worst team in the league by record.

Instead, Sacramento overwhelmed the Bulls with a throwback Russell Westbrook triple-double — his record-extending 208th. In nabbing a 126-110 home victory, the Kings won just their third game of their last 23 — and merely their 15th of the season. Yikes.

Westbrook notched a 21-point, 12-assist, 11-rebound triple-double, while Giddey logged a 15-point, 12-board, 10-dime response. Chicago’s $100 million man logged his career-most ninth triple-double of the season, and climbed into sole second place with that stat for the Bulls, with his 16th overall, per K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network.

He has now leapfrogged Hall of Fame former Bulls forward Scottie Pippen. The six-time champ needed 12 seasons to register his 15 triple-doubles, while Giddey now has 16 in less than two years with Chicago. Clearly, the stat is more meaningless than ever.

Billy Donovan once again leaned heavily on his vets. Collin Sexton was potentially on his way to a 40-point night, having scored 28 points (including a career-best seven made treys), but departed after the third frame with a leg injury, never to return.

The return of Jalen Smith (who came off the bench in a bit of a small-ball starting lineup surprise) and Patrick Williams prompted Donovan to demote 22-year-old power forward Leonard Miller out of his rotation.

The Bulls’ massive size disadvantage led to one key uncomfortable stat: the Kings outscored the Bulls spectacularly in the post, 68-36. Sacramento also scored 13 points off 14 Bulls turnovers, while the Kings themselves only turned the rock over three times as a team.
