All three are set to compete in the 100 back final this evening and are likely concentrating their energy on that race instead.
Casas was the top seed in the 200 IM coming into the meet with a lifetime best time of 1:54.30, which he set at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships over the summer. He was the only swimmer on the lineup entered with a time under 1:55.
Meanwhile, Lasco came into the meet as the #8 seed in the event, entered with a time of 1:58.77 despite holding a personal best time of 1:57.97 from 2023.
A few spots behind Lasco sat Tierney, who was seeded 11th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.34 coming into the competition, which is one second off of the lifetime best that he set back in 2023.
Out of these three, Tierney leads the charge heading into the 100 back final, currently sitting in the runner-up position with his time of 54.14 from the semifinals. The Canadian already claimed silver in the 200 back (1:58.61) and 7th in the 50 back (25.76).
Just behind him in the rankings is Casas, who is the #3 seed heading into the final of the 100 back tonight after posting a time of 54.67 during the semifinals. Earlier in the meet, he took the runner-up spot in the 400 IM (4:16.37) and placed 3rd in the 50 fly (23.19).
Lasco is currently ranked 6th with a time of 55.39 heading into the 100 back final. The first few days of competition saw him finish 15th in the 100 free (50.30); he placed 8th in the prelims of the 200 back (2:02.67) but did not appear in the finals of the event.
