I’m gonna be honest, folks. I had a really nicely wrapped Blackhawks bullets this morning that I was going to add to but learning that Troy Murray has passed away is a gut punch I wasn’t ready for. So I’m going to open our day after the trade deadline with a request that you keep Troy’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. He was such a wonderful human. I’m legitimately heartbroken.
Yesterday was a long, crazy, busy day around the NHL. For the Blackhawks, it was a tough one that started with captain Nick Foligno getting traded to Minnesota and ended roughly 12 hours later with the Canucks burying a couple empty net goals to finish a bad loss for the Hawks. Unpacking a trade deadline is never easy, especially when the Blackhawks are moving out guys who meant so much in the room. General manager Kyle Davidson spoke with the media after the deadline and talked about a wide range of topics. I have tried to break some of that out over the past hours for you into three pieces.
