2026 Speedo Sectionals – Justin, TX

March 5 – March 8, 2026 Justin, Texas SCY (25 yards) Psych Sheets Meet Central Results: Meet Mobile “LAC Spring Speedo Sectionals”

Coming off of her eye-catching performance in the 1000 free on Thursday, 16-year-old Madalyn Petty continued to deliver on day 2 of the Justin Sectionals.

Petty raced to victory in the 500 free with a lifetime best time of 4:43.22, claiming the championship title by 10 seconds and marking the 5th-fastest time in the country this season in the girls’ 15-16 age group.

Her performance also landed her at #80 on the list of all-time top 100 times in her age group, which marks Petty’s first appearance in that ranking in this event.

Petty shaved almost two seconds off of her personal best time, which previously stood at 4:45.05 from the 2025 Texas high school state championship last February.

Petty, who swims for Tyler Rose Aquatic Club, has made huge strides in the 500 free the past few seasons. She dropped a total of 13 seconds in the event over the course of the 2024-2025 season, with her performance at this year’s Justin Sectionals continuing that upwards trajectory.

Petty now has two golds to her name thus far in the competition, after winning the 1000 free (9:39.21) in a similarly dominant fashion on opening night.

Other Day 2 Winners and Highlights:

Avery Daigle from Franco’s Fins took home the girls’ 50 fly in a huge personal best time of 23.52; she came into the meet with a lifetime best time of 24.85 before touching in 23.96 during prelims.
